Snow again

the replica of the same weather we had two weeks back. It started on Thursday morning and continued for two days. We all stayed at home on Friday.  Next door H patti and Adi made a snowman at the backyard and as a special surprise to Adi we made diamond biscuit in the evening together. Though I planned it before I did not tell her in advance as I remember what she did the last time we made cookies. She was after me every ten minutes from the morning to check when we are going to bake the cookies. She herself made one roll and cut the biscuits. she enjoyed the process. This was an inspiration from Sundar. Guess what Adi did all these three days inside the four walls?

On the way back home yesterday evening

Adi: Mommy do we all have baby in the tummy?
Me: (arambichita da) rolling my eyes and with a fear of what else is in store said “No pappa only mummies will have”
Adi: So, you mean I will have it after I become like you? For her all grown up ladies are mummies.
Me: hmm yes and no. If you want you can have it. If you don’t want you don’t need to have it. I can feel that I started bluffing.
Adi: But you said all mummies will have it. How can I not have it?
Me: there are some ways to have the baby. Again If you want you can have it. If you don’t want you don’t need to have it
Adi: Crying out loud on the street with tears flowing. I don’t want to have any baby in my tummy.
Adi: I never ever want a baby in my tummy. She was not ready to hear me and went on with her pulambals about not having a baby
Me: Cooked up something in the meanwhile and said pappa there is an injection that helps to have baby. Only if you take that injection you will get baby. Otherwise you will not. So, you can opt not to have that injection happy?
Adi: Is it like the injection that we get in our hands when we fall sick?
Me: yes da but this one they will put it on our tummy as the baby comes out of the tummy (Sigh with a big relief not knowing the next question in line)

Adi:
So, if they put it on our ears then will the baby come out of our ears?
Me: ROTFL.

We reached home by then and something else grabbed her attention.
God please save me from bluffing and speaking nonsense when she attacks me with these  kind of questions.
At least if M is nearby I would happily direct half the questions to him.

Schools are closed for past two days

because of the severe blizzard. We all were hibernating since Tuesday.

I have come to office today where as the girl and daddy are still under the blanket at home. We used this time to do couple of activities. We baked our first cookie and made few handy crafts.

The cookie story is obvious. I messed up the dough after whisking the mix for a solid half hour and the chief chef of the household stepped in at final stage, corrected the dough and took all the credits from the little girl. Needless to say Adi had loads of fun mixing the sugar and butter, breaking/mixing the eggs and making the cookie shapes.

Below are the crafts we made. They are very easy to make.

Hearty hands is a valentine day special and steps are also explained. You can try this with a piece of white/red paper. It doesn’t take more than 10 or 15 minutes.

Paper bat was Adi’s choice. The decoration on bat’s body was all made by her.

Earth was made in the school with balloon and paper. Guess, you remember the earth from this post.

If the school is closed tomorrow then this will be a holiday week for her as next Monday is a public holiday. She would return to school only on next Tuesday. I envy her. She is hooked on to TV for at least 3-4 hours every day. This is going above my head now. Have to soon find a way to engage her into something else. Hand craft is one of that option.

M : Shall we buy PC for this week?
Me : I am not sure if that will be available at the shop we are visiting
M : Ok let’s check it out
Adi: Mommy, what is that daddy talking about? PC?
Me : I don’t know pappa. Check with daddy
Adi: Daddy, what is PC?
M : I am not sure pappa. We have to see if its in the shop (we just wanted to avoid her tantrum if we cannot buy it)
Adi: If you are talking about PC and you are going to buy it then you should definitely know about it.  Why are you simply telling lies?

It was a nethi adi to M.  He didn’t know how to react and with an innocent face he said “Pappa I remember now it is Pan Cake”

Adi: Phew when don’t you simply say as “Pan Cake” why PC? (Her face gesture was as if she is tired of guessing after us for every single thing)

M and Me: !@#$%^&*

Show n Tell – letter L

We are hunting for object that starts with letter “L” for this week.
Some of the objects that is in our list are

1. Lion (obviously toy one)
2. Letter
3. Lamp
4. Lock

And the final one was identified by Adi. I am wondering how we (me and M) missed it. We gave clues to M still he couldn’t

It is pink in color (need not be pink always but Adi’s is pink)
We all have one for each
It speaks
We use it everyday

Can you guess? M’s first guess was “Lips” but that’s not the answer

Me (to M): Do you know at A’s family they decided to do blah blah blah. It seems A is going to blah blah blah
Adi (Interrupting seriously): Mommy, why do you always refer Apple’s name as A. How will I know about whom you are talking? Whether its Apple or Apricot. I really get confused. So, just call A as Apple OKAY?

Hmmmm. My intention of mentioning as A is to keep Adi away from these talks and not to make her follow our talks. what do I do now? The message is reaching the kid faster than the daddy.

I can relate this with milk. We used the word “milk” till she was 2. Then, started spelling it out like M.I.L.K till she was 3. Then used the word “dhoodh” for a while, then used signs for a while and now left with no option.  Before I show the sign to him she says “Amma I don’t want milk now or Amma I need the milk right in front of me at the count of three”

Seriously thinking does mobile text option help? Guess on few days she can read my texts too 😦
