I can’t believe

that I am now drafting the 100th post. I know this may not be a big deal for fellow bloggers to reach 100 in 1+ years but for me who hardly liked any form of writing before it feels great. Thanks so much to all the visitors and friends for making this happen. Though this blog was started to capture all my chweet moments of parenthood I have to admit that I would have not continued if there was no comments/responses from your guys. Thanks again for helping this blog reach this state. Not to mention special thanks to my pattu rajathi who is the source for most of the topics published here.  Next set of thanks will be in the 200th post 🙂

I actually wanted to publish the first tune played by Adi with her piano and let you guys guess the song for my 100th post.  But, unfortunately I couldn’t upload the audio in soundcloud.  Was trying for past 2 to 3 days. Is there any other way to publish the audio in wordpress?

The fault was with my audio. This post was in draft since last 3 days and now I am happy that I fixed the issue with the audio.

Guess this tune folks

On the Thanksgiving note we had a grand feast at Adi’s school on Tuesday afternoon.  All parents were requested to bring the food representing their culture/tradition for the feast. I made gulab jamuns and diamond biscuits. Kids had a blast just being around with parents at their class and enjoying different kinds of food.  Some of the food were spring rolls, dumplings, corn cheese muffins, sweet potato pie and turkey made with apple and marshmallows. It was a pleasant experience to set the table for the kids with the place mats,  cards and chairs with their name on it. After the tables were set the V.V.I.P’s were requested to take their chairs and we were at their service to the serve based on their like.

Knock Knock

is the latest game we are forced to play every time Adi gets bored (mostly played during the boring car transit)

Disclaimer: Players need crazy thinking skills. Any formal training is an added value.

Player 1 : Knock Knock
Player 2 : Who’s there?
Player 1 : Banana
Player 2 : Banana who?
Player 1 : Banana who flies up in the air (this has to be a funny statement and here we have to use our thinking skills)
All players : LOL (Seriously you have to laugh out loud. This is very important for the game. Most of the times I fake a laugh)

More funny silly statements (to make sure you get the funda)
An ice cream that is baked in the oven (now seriously practice laughing out loud hahahahahahhahahha)
A bus that runs on the rail track (don’t forget to practice laughing)
TV that swims in the water

Jokes apart Kids really enjoy this game. Try it out folks…

So we are

now the proud owner of this badge as we won the user choice award for artsy craftsy october 2010 challenge… Adi is super excited about this… Thanks to all who have voted for us and special thanks to Shruti for organizing this amazing challenge.

Our entries are here and here

Endhiran – The Robot

After the whole world ( at least the Media and social networks)  had changed the focus from this humongous film Endhiran and Cineplexes have treated people for the highly contagious Robot-o-mania here we (rather Adi)  come with our version of Endhiran – The Robot

Happy Diwali

Wishing everyone a very happy and safe diwali. Pics of bakshanams coming soon…

Have a great day !!!

Update : I am into the world of diwali nostalgia from last evening. We all got up early, had oil massage, oil bath, home style breakfast, did pooja and now off to work. I am working from home today attending calls since morning 😦 as Adi’s school is closed for Teachers workshop. The little girl is at living room now watching TV. She peeps into my room now and then to ask “Amma can I take one more murukku or one more rava ladoo?”. Reminds me of the days me and bro used to attack the snack section that is surrounded by “Erumbu marundhu” (Eng: medicinal powder to keep away ants).  I am enjoying the moment she is peeping in for the sweets and waiting for my nod … I was jumping in joy yesterday eve when Adi bounced back for second murukku while I was making them.  The joy at little one’s face enjoying home made sweets wipes off all the effort spent in making them. Can’t ask for more on this special day.

Here is our diwali platter

Halloween update

Updated on 13th Jan 2011 – Linking this post to Shruti’s Jan 2011 artsy crafsy challenge

The girl had a blast this weekend. We have become visitors to our own home for the past two days trying to squeeze in the weekend classes, family Halloween party at Adi’s school, doctor appointment,  Spooktacular event at kids club, trick or treating around the nearby mall/neighborhood and of course lunch out etc etc… Sigh !!! It was sure a jiffy weekend. The highlight at her school party were the paper roll mummy relay race and the haunted house. The mummy relay race was about wrapping the parent with paper roll to make them look like Egyptian mummy. I was wrapped by Adi and M. Next the haunted house though it was designed for school kids both parents and kids queued up and parents were equally scared as the kids. Adi was very clear that she didn’t want to try the haunted house and as always me being the curious and confused mommy tried the haunted house to shout out my fullest. And then this song that Adi taught me on Friday evening. She was excited when I picked it up faster esp. the pronunciation and the landing notes. When I didn’t get it right at the first try she cooly said “Amma practice makes perfect. keep practicing” (all times of India America). We had lods of fun singing it together.

Halloween Halloween is a very special time
with ghosts and goblins all around
lots
of candies to be found

Halloween Halloween is a very special time
with witch in her broom flying up there
I will pretend it is me up there

Looking forward to next weekend (going to be kinda long) as Adi’s school is closed on Friday for Teacher’s workshop and I will be forced to work from home 🙂

My current state about Diwali – is it coming soon? when is it? I mean which day exactly?  and nothing else. Yet to think about the snacks to be prepared. Hope to make some but not sure about the what/when and how? a big Sigh !!!!!!!!!!

Oops work is calling leaving you all with my Cinderella princess. She was mighty happy with the costume.
